All our instructors are serving or ex-serving members of the Armed Forces with current fitness qualifications. We will help motivate and encourage you to reach you goals whether you are new to fitness or a seasoned marathon runner looking for a new approach to training.

Nathan was born in Newport, South Wales in 1979. He joined the Army at 17 with the Royal Regiment of Wales. During his time with the regiment he travelled to places such as Germany, Poland, Canada and Belize and served in operational theatres such as Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Kosovo. He left the forces after 8 years as a Corporal to pursue a career in Close Protection. After 3 years doing this and various other roles in the security industry he decided he wanted to get back into the fitness industry and joined the Military Preparation College in Cardiff as a physical training instructor. After a year in this post he took over the position of Operations Manager for British Military Fitness"

Martin was born in Grantham, Lincolnshire in 1974; he joined the 2nd Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment in 1992, and was posted to Germany after training. During his time with the regiment He served in Canada twice, Bosnia, and the former Yugoslavia. Martin enjoyed Boxing for his Company and Battalion, which he carried on after leaving the Army for the Bristol Empire where he also gained his A.B.A Boxing tutors qualification. Martin left his Regiment as a Lance corporal and moved to Bristol where he has covered a range of jobs from head doorman for 7 years and a lecturer at two Bristol Colleges. Martin is now the Manager of the Park Sports Centre where he is also completing his Certificate in Personal Training, Advanced Gym programming, Business skills and G.p Referral. He enjoys working for BMF, as he likes to see people progress their fitness while enjoying them selves."

Lee was born in Bristol in 1974. From a young age Lee lead an active life and was the Avon schools 400m champion and played rugby for Whitehall RFC, Bristol schools and Bristol combination . Lee joined the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment at the age of 19 and on completion of his training Lee received the award for best in physical fitness. Whilst serving, Lee worked as a physical training instructor and was a Milan missile operator. Lee was posted to a number of countries which included Cyprus, Kuwait, Falkland Islands, Canada, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Ascension Islands and Northern Ireland. Lee completed the army physical training instructors course in 1997 and passed with straight A's. On leaving the army Lee gained a diploma in sports therapy and personal training.


Aaron was born in 1984 on the south coast in Sussex.
At the age of 18 he joined the 7th Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery and with which he served his country at war in Iraq in 2003 and and again in Afghanistan in 2006.
Aaron did 6 years in the Army reaching the rank of Lance Bombardier.
During his time in the Army he represented his Regiment and the Gunners in X-country running, Athletics, Orienteering, X-country sking and Biathlon. When leaving the Army in 2008, Aaron became a Firefighter with Avon Fire and Rescue Service and is still doing so to this day.
Aaron holds Fitness quallifacations up to level 3 and has been working at British Military Fitness since 2008.

Scott joined the 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment at 17 and during his 6 years service took part in tours of Northern Ireland and Iraq. He has now been a Firefighter with Avon Fire & Rescue for 6 years. He is interested and competes in many sports which include; rugby, cycling, running, triathlon. He also has a keen interest in maintaining and repairing old bicycles.

Luke was born in Bristol in 1983 and from a young age has enjoyed playing all sports and participating in all fitness related activities. Luke decided after his A levels instead of continuing his education and attending university, that he would join the RAF as a Physical Training instructor. During his seven years in the service he served in a variety of different roles both in the UK and overseas, including tours in the Middle East and exercises in Canada and New Zealand. In addition to his fitness qualifications, Luke was a Joint Service Adventure Training Instructors and in his last tour duty was an outdoor leadership and person development instructor in the Snowdonia National Park. On leaving the RAF, Luke has decided pursue his ambition of becoming a physiotherapist and return to study.

Tom Bassett first started his military career in the Royal Marine Cadet's at 15, after a promising 3 years Tom left due to gaining a full time job. Not one to stop being physically active and staying fit he applied for the Royal Marine Commmandos at 21yr's old, Successfully completing the induction stages Tom returned to work waiting for his enrollment date. During this waiting period he was involved in a near fatal RTA in 2006 , After 7 weeks of hospital food and no activity his ambition was gone and withdrew his application from the RMC, 1 year of doing very little exercise he slowly built back up his fitness and strength after all it was being fit and a strong heart that kept him alive, Tom has a different view on the human body then anyone, Having not willingly put his body through massive stress, He see's fitness as a massive part of having a good life, enjoying all of life's little treats he trains hard. proven when he successfully past 6 Rifles reserves 2008 and went on to become PTI taking on all challenges head on and testing his fitness, Again the RTA came back to haunt him and failed a medical and was discharged from the army in January 2011. Despite all this Tom has a positive outlook and enjoys working with BMF to give people knowledge, motivation and most of all a better quality of life weather its losing those extra few pounds or to go out the next night and indulge.

Colin was born in Bath and joined the Royal Navy as a Warfare
Specialist Sonar Submariner. He has travelled the majority of the
world. He served just less than 5 years and now enjoys life as a
personal trainer. You will find Colin at the Bath or Bristol parks.
Colin joined BMF in May 2011.
